Winter Sunset

Winter is upon us, and we will get tired of the cold, snow, and wind. We will get tired of the gray sky, and the small amount of daylight. I know it can be dreary and it seems like it will never end. I myself, likes the cold. I would much rather play in the snow then go to the beach. I do not like summer, it gets so hot here that you cannot breath some days and going outside is just not a pleasant experience. So, during the winter you have to overlook all the things that make you say, “I cannot wait until winter is over!” and take a moment and look around. There is a lot of beauty in winter, especially the sunsets. There is a calm that takes over as you watch the brilliant colors touch the pure white of the snow, and the quiet takes over and for that one single moment there is pure beauty before your eyes. Chritmas memories

One of my favorite parts of the Christmas season is looking over ornaments as I hang them on the tree. Some were mine when I was a child, and some belong to other members of my family. Then there are some I have gotten recently. One of my favorite ornaments was one my Mom gave me that used to hang on her tree. It was a Rocking Horse that looks a lot like this one. It’s nice to see it on my tree now after hanging it at home for so many years. I even have some very old ornaments that I am scared to hang up because if they were to fall off and break I’d be pretty upset, so I got some special ornament hangers for those. It’s just fun to look over at my tree and think of the memories each ornament has imprinted on me. Mommy Scarlet

No No Santa

When I was a teenager, my Mama took my little cousin to see Santa at the local store. I didn’t want to go, I was too old to see Santa and if any of my friends were to see me in line I would never live it down. My Mama made me go, and I stood there, holding my cousin’s hand. I don’t think she wanted to be there either, but my Auntie had asked my Mama to take her so off we went. As both her and I stood there moving up little by little we could finally see Santa. He looked tired and weary, not a great look to have when you are supposed to convey jolliness and joy. As we made our way forward, listening to canned in Christmas music, I looked over to the right of Santa and saw an elf. Not just any elf, no. This was the best looking Elf I have ever seen in my life. Dark hair, light blue eyes, smile that could melt your panties right off your body. All of a sudden I was excited to see Santa, I kept pulling on my cousin’s arm, and she was getting mad. After about 15 minutes we were there, her on Santa’s lap, and Me wishing I was on the Elf’s lap, in that little plastic house behind Santa where nobody could see us. I kept staring at him and he was staring right back, and then he smiled and walked over and gave me a candy cane. And that was it, it was over, my cousin was off of Santa’s lap and the Elf went back to doing his Elfish things. Rub-a-Dub-Dub

I love it when its time to get one of my ABies into the tub! I always make sure there are oodles of bubbles to play in. And let’s see – there’s a rubber ducky, wind up fishies to swim about, and of course a sponge mitt. And as a special treat, I have soap crayons so my little one can color a pretty picture on the side of the tub for me. I love to get them squeaky clean then wrap them up in a warm, fluffy towel, powder them from head to toe, then back into a diaper and a sleeper with footsies! Now doesn’t that sound heavenly?
